“They Could Have Had His Room,” plus pix from the vintage Family Fold Photograph Album

Precious memories with loved ones come to our mind at Christmastime, so we wanted to open the vintage photograph album and share this treasured song with you. We cherish this composition from 2003 because our friend, Don “Ramblin’” Rhodes wrote these lyrics and asked Eryn if she would like to write the music. We hope you enjoy this song that not only tells of the very first Christmas, but also has us ponder what Jesus would do for us eternally through His death & resurrection.

**************

“O Holy was that night when they came to that inn

Where he had just arrived a short time before them.

And if he just had known about Jesus' future doom,

He gladly would have gave that couple his own room.

But who could have guessed on that December night

That all the stars in Heaven would be shining oh so bright?

And if he'd only known about that future tomb,

That Baby in Bethlehem could have had his room.

He heard that couple's son was born on stable hay,

And shepherds came afar to see where that Child lay.

The cows and goats that night breathed warmth into the gloom,

While he slept not far away in the comfort of his room.

But who could have guessed on that December night

That all the stars in Heaven would be shining oh so bright?

And if he'd only known about that future tomb,

That Baby in Bethlehem could have had his room.”
