Saint Paul’s Choir to perform Eryn’s arrangement of “My Last Days On Earth”
Please continue to pray for Mom as she is still an inpatient at The Mayo Clinic’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Please pray for this infection to clear up, stay away, and for them to figure out what Mom’s problem is and how to fix it.
On Sunday, November 7th, 2021 at 11:00 A.M., Saint Paul’s Church will have their All Saints Church Service (605 Reynolds St. Augusta, GA 30901). We are honored that The Saint Paul’s Choir will be singing my arrangement of “My Last Days On Earth.”
The video below is the audio of my band’s version of it from our “Hope” album. Bill Monroe wrote this mandolin instrumental decades ago. I learned this beautiful melody and felt inspired to write lyrics to it.
Hanging around Saint Paul’s Church, I’ve gotten even fonder of organ and choir music. I had an idea, and I approached their music director, Keith Shafer, about them singing “My Last Days On Earth.” He said, “Yes,” and it was so much fun for me to transcribe the melody, chords, and all of the harmony parts for the soprano, alto, tenor, and bass singers. Keith connected me with Paul Roberts (a retired music director from First Presbyterian Church) to take my handwritten sheet music and type it up for the organ & choir. We had a blast collaborating! This mash up of genres is a musical dream come true for me.
I am sooooo honored and excited for The Saint Paul’s Choir to perform “My Last Days On Earth” on Sunday, November 7th, 2021 at their 11:00 A.M. church service (605 Reynolds St. Augusta, GA 30901). It will be the first time my ears will hear it. Please attend, if you take a notion. If you can’t be there in person, you can listen in on the traditional radio at WGAC 580 A.M., you can stream that radio broadcast at www.wgac.com, or you can watch on Facebook Live by searching for “Saint Paul’s Church - Augusta, GA.”
“I see my time is drawing nigh,
Soon I’ll bid this earth goodbye;
For my Lord above is calling me home,
But I shall not travel alone.
In Heaven, forever I’ll live…
This life, I’ll gladly give…
I’ll fear not when my hour comes,
Though it be my last days on earth.
O, death, where is thy victory?
Christ has taken away thy sting;
He is The Way, The Truth, The Life,
And He is why I sing…
In Heaven, forever I’ll live…
This life, I’ll gladly give…
I’ll fear not when my hour comes,
Though it be my last days on earth.
