We are honored to be Nashville City Productions’ “Featured Artist.” They are the wonderful people who have duplicated our CDs and DVDs through the years. You don’t have to have a band to take advantage of their amazing services, though. “Virtually” in Dahlonega, GA today

The Family Fold & I were honored to “virtually” provide the music for our church family in Dahlonega, GA this morning. Here is the link to the entire service from Saint Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church. Every minute of it is a blessing!

Prayer Request for Ricie (Mom)

Please hold my mom in your prayers over these next few months. She has “cervical spine compression,” and will have surgery on the morning of Wednesday, October 28th.

It all started with her “self diagnosis of a frozen shoulder,” and she just accepted that she had less function in her left arm. This past March, her leg started giving her problems, with pain from her hip down to her shins. So she went to the doctor, and instead of a reference to pain management, she was sent to a neurosurgeon. The first person to give Mom a thorough exam was an old coworker of hers, so that was a ray of sunshine. After that exam, Mom had an MRI, and that is when we found out that she has pretty significant compression in her cervical spine (C3-C7). The doctor said that if she didn’t have surgery for it, it could cause further loss of function, and eventually paralysis.

The surgery may last up to 6-hours. They will go through her neck to do an “anterior cervical discectomy with fusion and plates, C3-C7,” then flip her over to do a “posterior fusion and plates, C3-T1.”

The healing time after the surgery will be about 3-months, and she will be in a neck brace for the first 6-weeks. Please pray that all of this will go well for her, and that The Lord will anoint her medical team. Please pray that there will be no complications, and that there won’t be any problems as this surgery is happening very near her larynx/vocal cords. We want Mom to continue to be able to play her beautiful penny whistle and sing with us. We love her so much!

Songs from the 2008 “Eryn Eubanks & The Family Fold Music Festival.” Grammy award winning mandolinist, Mike Compton, accompanies The Family Fold on country classics “Slowly,” “You Are My Sunshine,” “I’m So Afraid of Losing You Again,” and “Your Cheatin’ Heart.”

On Saturday, June 14th, 2008, the first “Eryn Eubanks & The Family Fold Music Festival” was held with over 1000 people attending from the Southeast region. All proceeds benefited Lynndale, Inc., an organization founded in 1952 that helps those with developmental disabilities.

Mayor Deke Copenhaver also proclaimed that Saturday, June 14th, 2008 was “Eryn Eubanks & The Family Fold Day” in Augusta, GA.

Charlotte is such a kind lady and a wonderful vocalist who has sung all over the world with Southern Gospel legends like The Nelons, Jeff & Sherri Easter, and the Gaither Gospel Homecoming Series. We were honored to have her sing at our music festival.

Eryn Eubanks & Jim Jewell sing “Wait A Little Longer, Please, Jesus.” Eryn is playing a Gibson “Sam Bush model” mandolin, which is a replica of Gibson’s 1937 F5 mandolin. Jim is playing a National Tricone Resonator Guitar. (Augusta, GA - 2007.)

“Black Mountain Rag”

Something that became a segment on “Eryn Eubanks & The Family Fold’s TV Show” was a slideshow of some of our favorite photographs paired with one of our songs from our Family Fold records. This one is “Black Mountain Rag.” Our TV show aired every week for 4-years in the Central Savannah River Area of Georgia & South Carolina, and we are grateful that we have this footage of good memories to look back on.

Thanks for tuning in to our Ed Hurt videos. I owe so much to him! When other pickers were too busy for this beginner, he took the time to play music with me. He taught me the bulk of the mandolin tunes that you hear me play with The Family Fold. I also learned a lot from him about how to play in a bluegrass band setting. If we weren’t doing it right, he’d stop the song and go over it with us until we got it right!

‪“Ed Hurt Week” continues on “The Eubanks Family Fold Channel” with “Where Does The Good Times Go?” Mom & I did this song with Ed back in 2007. You’ll hear him talk about tight harmony singing, and you’ll also see our band’s old commercial for our weekly gig at Metro Coffeehouse. We played there every Saturday afternoon for 6-years, and have such fond memories from those times.

Taking this walk down “Memory Lane” during this COVID19 Pandemic, I can’t help but echo that song title... “Where does the good times go?” But, God is good all the time, He is in control, and there is always hope & goodness in The Lord. With Jesus, the best is yet to come... Heaven is for real! His goodness is unshakable; and thanks to Jesus, we don’t just experience that goodness for “a season.” We have God’s goodness, love, salvation, fellowship, comfort, strength, victory, and Eternal life forevermore!

Imelda Update

Last Thursday was a 12-hour, nerve-wrecking day. We found out that our Doberman, Imelda, has liver disease. We hate for her to have any sort of problem; but we are grateful that she didn’t have a heart problem, an issue with her spleen, or a cancerous mass. We're thankful that we didn't receive any news that would have had her "put to sleep."

A biopsy, anastesia, and surgery would be too risky for Imelda. She will be taking new medicines to help treat the liver disease. When you think of us, please pray for Imelda and her liver, because it still is a serious thing. But I know that nothing is too hard for The Lord. He can bring healing to her... He can help her still go on to live a good life. As long as she feels good, she will keep on living, and we want to make the most of every day of her life... Which is what we really should all be doing, all the time, for all of our lives and loved ones.

Today is a happy day in Imelda’s life. We received news from the vet that she does NOT have lymphoma, so we are grateful for this good report. Knowing this gives us more clarity regarding what medicines Imelda can take to help her.

Also on this date - June 30th - we brought Imelda to our home in Augusta, GA. Our family drove to Canton, GA (near the Tennessee border) to get her, and as you can see from the photos, the seating arrangements haven’t changed in 8-years!

Thank y’all for caring about Imelda and praying for her.

This time last year… Eryn was awarded 2019’s “Best Individual Artist” by The Greater Augusta Arts Council.

A lot has happened since that award; and the #1 thing that we still want to do is praise God for all of His goodness, mercy, protection, healing, and blessings in our lives!
